TRENDING NOW: Duterte to Run for President "if only to save the republic"

People have long been rooting for Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to run for the presidential derby in 2016.
The "Rodrigo Roa Duterte for President Movement” has struck a chord in our country.
Last year, Duterte showed no interest in running for the highest position of the land. During the last quarter of 2014, he softened a little and verbalized that he is willing to listen to the public before coming up with a decision.
Just last Wednesday, February 18, 2015, while speaking before a crowd of 2,000 at the Lyceum-Northwestern University in Dagupan City, a forum participant asked Duterte about his candidacy in the coming election.
Duterte replied by saying, "If only to save this Republic, I could run for President."
But he also added that running for presidency will cost about P10 to P15 billion, and he doesn't have that amount to support such campaign.
“I could make this sacrifice if only to save this country from being fractured,” he added.
Former Congressman Acuna stood up and told Mayor Duterte "It is no longer a personal decision for you. It is your moral obligation. You have to save this country."
Acuna and his group will inaugurate the "Save the Philippines Movement" to mobilize support in Northern Luzon for Mayor Rodrigo Duterte if he runs for the presidential position in 2016.
