Kapis Aligue "The HAWs of Aligue"

Photo © Fb Page
During Abreeza's "Mindanao's Big Bite: Celebrating the Flavors of Mindanao expo" last week, we went looking for interesting booths to feature. And we found a very popular booth that sells Aligue. Fortunately, we had the chance to have a quick chat with the legit owner/online seller.
Meet the owner of Kapis Aligue "The HAWs of Aligue" - Jico Haw. He works as a branch manager of Megaworld Suntrust and a businessman at the same time. He started distributing Aligue last January 2015 and it instantly became a hit.
Prior to the expo, he was only selling his products via Facebook and he already had countless meet-ups in Abreeza.
During the expo, his products were always sold out. It only took him until mid afternoon to sell his products. He's very thankful for the overwhelming responses. He is also planning to put up a resto with aligue-based ingredients in the future.
Why are people going gaga over this bottle of orange-colored goodness?
Aligue is commonly known as crab fat. It's the soft yellow-orange substance you get upon opening a crab's shell. It's a very popular delicacy in the Philippines, but it's also known to be high in cholesterol. Thus, it's recommended to consume it in moderation.
In our opinion, people are lovin' Kapis Aligue "The HAWs of Aligue" because it is a unique product. It's not easy to find this type of product in Davao. Moreover, they added special ingredients to the ordinary aligue, which gave it an extra oomph! It's really good.
P280/bottle is already a steal. As what I've said earlier, aligue should be taken in moderation. Thus, a bottle will already last for several days.
You can also eat it in so many ways. You can simply enjoy it with freshly cooked rice, with pasta, with your favorite viand, or with added twists. You can fry it, heat it, or mix it. There are actually a lot of aligue-based recipes.
